For first responders and eligible workers diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), a simplified process is now available to make a workers' compensation claim.
This streamlined approach eliminates the requirement to prove that PTSD was caused by work. Given the nature of their work, first responders and eligible workers diagnosed with PTSD will be automatically deemed to have a work-related injury unless there is evidence suggesting otherwise.
Moreover, this approach minimizes the necessity to delve into the details of the incident that led to their PTSD or revisit past traumatic events experienced throughout their careers.
