Fixed Plant Safety Campaign:
Workers often face severe injuries, including amputations, due to fixed plant incidents during routine activities like maintenance, cleaning, clearing blockages, and power outages.
WorCover Queensland conducted a campaign between April 2017 and July 2018, specifically targeting fixed plant assessments at workplaces involved in food processing, metal, and fabricated metal manufacturing.
Campaign Focus:
The emphasis of the campaign centered on critical safety aspects, including:
- Machine guarding
- Isolation procedures
- Lockout and tag-out protocols
- Safe plant use and established systems of work.
