  • 101468850: Searchlight - Siebe 1 Light Copper Pendant
  • 101468868: Searchlight - Quay 1 Light Chrome Pendant
  • 101468841: Searchlight - Regis Chandelier Chrome and Clear

Safety Concern: Risk of electric shock.These light fixtures fail to meet the AS/NZS 60598.1 standard. Inadequate clearance between the terminal block and its metal components may cause the luminaire to become electrically charged.

Product Distribution: Sold in Masters stores across Australia from April 4 to December 7, 2015.

Recommended Actions:

  • Installers / Electrical Contractors: Notify customers who might have had this specific brand and model of light fixture installed.
  • Customers: Individuals with these lights installed should promptly contact any Masters store or customer service at 1300 337 707 to arrange an inspection by an electrician. IKEA - LOCK and HYBY ceiling lamps

Identification:The recall covers the fixed luminaire - LOCK ceiling lamp (article no. 000.652.04, 000.556.91) and HYBY ceiling lamp (article no. 102.163.73).

Safety Concern: Risk of injury or damage caused by mechanical hazards. The glass enclosure of the stationary luminaire ceiling lamp might fall due to its instability.

Product Distribution: These items were retailed by IKEA stores in Australia from December 1, 2002, to January 21, 2016.

Recommended Actions:

  • Installers / Electrical Contractors: Notify customers if they have installed this particular brand and model of light fixture.
  • Consumers: For those with installed LOCK or HYBY ceiling lamps, it is imperative to contact IKEA customer service promptly for additional details. Customers are strongly advised against attempting to remove the product themselves. A full refund or replacement can be obtained without requiring proof of purchase (receipt). Identification: Advanced Lighting Technologies Australia, Inc has become aware of several incidents involving high bay luminaires where certain capacitors installed in our high bay luminaires have failed in a destructive manner.

The probability of such incidents is quite low, however, Advanced Lighting Technologies has elected to proactively address the issue with customers.

High bay luminaires beginning with the following product code prefix:

  • Z#
  • ZA
  • ZAL
  • ZAR
  • ZC
  • ZE.

The potentially affected capacitors can be identified by:

  • the brand name 'Atco'
  • the country of origin designation as 'Made in Germany'
  • the model 'CP' type 250V
    • 18uf
    • 20uf
    • 25uf
    • 30uf
    rated lighting capacitor.
  • the batch numbers '26/04' to '30/05', indicating the capacitor was manufactured between June 2004 to July 2005.
  • the luminaire production dates between '29/04' (July 04) to '01/06' (January 06)

Action Needed: Workers are urged to contact Advanced Lighting if they possess a designated light fitting. When reaching out, please be prepared with the product part number/description, order, and supplier details. Advanced Lighting will collect your information, verify if your capacitors are affected, and outline the necessary corrective steps.

For impacted products, Advanced Lighting will supply a lamp refurbishment pack. This allows for the replacement of the aging lamp and, simultaneously, the capacitor without interrupting illumination.
