The "Serious about Farm Safety" guide, developed by Workplace Health and Safety Queensland along with agricultural industry representatives, is designed to aid small to medium-sized agricultural businesses in establishing a health and safety management system. This system aims to mitigate health and safety risks on farms and other agricultural workplaces, subsequently reducing the likelihood of workplace injuries and lowering workers' compensation premiums.
The guide encompasses legislative requirements, safety management systems, risk identification and assessment, implementation of safe work procedures, and general hazard information specific to the agricultural industry. It includes templates to facilitate the creation of a simple health and safety system, centered around workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
